SACRAMENTAL PROGRAMMES for CHILDREN
The preparation of children for the Sacraments of Reconciliation (Confession), Confirmation and First Eucharist (Holy Communion) is a parish based and family centred process, here at Holy Spirit Parish.
We encourage and nurture parents in the preparation of their children through small Home Groups. At these sessions, parents are encouraged to share their faith with their children and other members of the group. This is an excellent way for the children to see Christs love alive and working through each one of us.
At present most children will prepare for and receive First Reconciliation toward the end of Year 2. Preparation for Confirmation and First Eucharist will take place when the children are in Year 3. The Sacraments of Confirmation and First Eucharist are prepared during the same programme. First Eucharist and Confirmation are celebrated at the same Mass.
